The Arenys de Mar Museum has two facilities linked to the territory and that preserve the natural and intangible heritage of our country, the Marès de la Punta Museum shows one of the most popular crafts in our country, the pillow tips and the Mollfulleda Museum of Mineralogy is a sample of the natural wealth of our territory. The Museum has routes adapted to people with visual impairment.

Pare Fidel Fita municipal library: it is one of the Arenys Tourist Information Points where you can discover a local fund to better understand our legacy, you will have computers and internet connection at your disposal (15 free monthly hours). They also offer free and free information for all, organise activities that contribute to cohesion, social integration and the dissemination of local heritage.

Respect the spaces of worship: the cemetery or the parish church have an immense heritage value but they are also spaces of worship, therefore be respectful and comply with the established norms and limitations.
Keep in mind the neighborhood complying with the ordinances of civility:

  • Bring the dogs tied, spray their urines with water to avoid bad smell and collect their waste. Make sure your pet does not cause discomfort to the neighbors.
  • The consumption of alcohol on public roads is not allowed.
  • The order on the public road cannot be altered with noise, shouts and/or music.
  • No noise can be caused or discomfort created at home, especially from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on working days and from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. on holidays.
  • Zero tolerance to gender-based assaults.

Take care of the environment

Participate in selective collection Door to Door (PAP): An important part of Arenys de Mar has a different collection service than the traditional container system. Find out if you are in a Door-to-Door area (old core and urbanizations), you must deposit in front of the house door or in the spaces specifically enabled by the highest blocks (community huts) the different garbage on the stipulated days (paper, cardboard, glass, organic and rest or rejection). The hours of waste disposal, also the containers, are between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

  • The organic fraction must be left inside the bucket with a chip and, preferably, in a well-closed compostable bag.
  • The paper must be left in a cardboard box or in paper bags preferably.
  • Packaging can be left in a well-closed plastic bag.
  • The glass must continue to be deposited in the green containers installed on the street, without a plastic bag.
  • Nappies and excrements are collected daily for hygiene reasons. They must be placed in a bag duly identified with the sticker provided by the City Council.
  • The rest or rejection, that is, everything that cannot be recycled (such as dust, the rest of a broken plate, intimate hygiene textile,…) must be left in a plastic bag.

Keep in mind that you have to follow the following calendar!

Avoid wasting energy and water using it responsibly::
ENERGY SAVING:

  • Turn off lights and appliances that do not need to be turned on.
  • Take advantage of natural light.
  • Keep doors and windows closed when the air conditioning is in motion.
  • Make rational use of air conditioning. In summer, put the air conditioning at 25o, it is enough.

WATER SAVING:

  • Make rational use of water and reuse it if possible.
  • Warn if leaks, drips or any anomaly are detected to the person responsible for the establishment.
  • When programming devices that use water, do it according to the appropriate washing program.

Less waste, more recycling. Go shopping with your goat or your reusable plastic or clothing bags. Buy products in bulk and without single-use plastic packaging or wrapping. Also avoid products with packaging of materials that are very difficult to recycle such as bricks.
Respect biodiversity:: do not take anything from natural areas (neither animals, shells, plants, stones, etc.). If you are on the beach and you find jellyfish, do not remove them from the water since they are part of the marine life cycle.
Connect with nature in our nearest natural environments:

Beaches: Arenys de Mar has three main beaches:

  • Platja de la Musclera. This beach has car parks reserved for people with reduced mobility and parking bicycles all year round. It has a nudist scope. Due to the regression of the beach it is not currently accessible.
  • Platja de la Picòrdia. This beach has a sports leisure area (football track and volleyball tracks), several rest areas (equipped with picnic tables and benches), bicycle parking, parking reserved for people with reduced mobility, information panels, several large children’s games (an elastic pyramid and a pirate ship), workout elements and bins at the perimeter accesses.
  • Platja del Cavaió. This beach has a sports leisure area (football track and volleyball tracks), several rest areas (equipped with picnic tables and benches), bicycle parking, parking reserved for people with reduced mobility, information panels, several large children’s games (an elastic pyramid and a zip line) and bins at the perimeter accesses.

When you go to Arenys beaches:

  • Throw waste into the bins, waste and selective collection containers for paper, glass and packaging are available to you.
  • Do not waste the water of the footbaths and showers, saving is everyone’s business.
  • No utilitzis sabó en els rentapeus i les dutxes, aquest servei està pensat per esbandir-te la sorra i la sal abans d’anar a casa, no per a la higiene de les persones.
  • Do not use soap in the footbaths and showers, this service is designed to rinse the sand and salt before going home, not for the hygiene of people.
  • Don’t throw your cigarette butts in the sand. You will find special ashtrays for the beach at municipal facilities and relief sites. If you don’t have one, throw them well off in the trash..
  • You can take your dog to the beach all year round except in the summer season: from June 1 to September 15, dogs will only be able to access the beaches of the town from 8 in the evening to 8 in the morning.
  • Respect the facilities and urban furniture of the beaches.
  • Cane fishing is not allowed from land along the coast between 8 am and 10 pm from May 15 to September 15. Rest of the year: fishing available all day, but only from the beach. In no case is fishing allowed with cane from the port or breakwaters. Rials: the word rial is typical in the Maresme and in particular in Arenys de Mar. Define the torrents or streams where rainwater drains when there are storms. They are natural spaces that bring together a remarkable flora and fauna that must be known. And they have had an essential social function for the town, before as access roads to the cultivation areas (mainly gardens) and now mainly as access roads to inhabited areas and routes to discover nature and sustainable leisure (run, cycle, …). In addition, the rials connect us with neighboring towns and natural areas of interest in the region.

When you go to the Arenys Rials:

  • Take away the generated junk, use reusable bottles, etc.
  • If you harvest mushrooms, do not damage the forest using tools or digging the soil. Bring a basket to give the possibility to spread the spores.
  • Respect agricultural activities, as they are the livelihood of many people.
  • Respect the nature and tranquility of the environment. We must avoid unnecessary noise.
  • Plan the route and always bring a map to guide you and a minimum equipment (clothes and appropriate footwear).
  • Always try to walk along clearly marked or signposted paths or paths.

Where to park your car in Arenys de Mar: There are few free areas to park the vehicle near the town center, but the town has private parking with surveillance at reasonable prices.
